Good day to you,

As we gather here today on this very special day, to pay honor and tribute to the victims and people who have been and are affected by the impacts and effects of abuse and bullying in our world, we ask that you take a moment to reflect on these things in our own lives. Many have been lost, fallen and are slipping away from us because of the decadent and callous mentality towards each other as a people, and we must take the time to recognize the severity and seriousness of these issues around us and how they trickle down to every aspect of our society.

They have been through a lot, endured many hardships and sufferings at home, work, school and in the community as friends, communities, people and the world turned against them and they were left alone, desolate and hurting. When they reached out for help, none was given, when they cried out for help, no one heard, when they looked out, they saw no one to help. We do not wear their shoes nor feel there pain but we can let them know that we are here for them and are always willing to listen, hear, support and be a shoulder to lean on. Sometimes all that is needed is just to “listen”.

Won’t you listen to someone in need today?

Our world today is one of turmoil and hardships and instead of pulling together and supporting each other, we are seeing the rapid increase in selfishness, lack of respect, lack of basic morals, ethics and principles across the board. While families, friendships, relationships and communities are hurting from the loss and suffering of loved ones in many ways, we are further disjointed as a people through denial and being naïve about the issues because they may not be directly affecting us or our loved ones. And so we need to start focusing on the people and how their lives and our communities are intertwined and must come together in the fight against abuse and bullying.

This can only be successfully achieved as a people who are actively united and engaged towards this cause through positive support resource structures convergence in this goal of effectively and safely controlling, managing and mitigating these issues for all. Communities must rise up, get engaged, get educated and be more aware of the warning signs and symptoms that are right there in front of you and put a stop to them immediately. Now more than ever the saying of “it takes a village to raise a child” could never be more true than it is today.

School leaders and administrators, we are asking you to please take a more proactive and vigilant stance in listening, watching and identifying these issues in our schools and applying the appropriate handling so that it does not get to a state of fatality of if I had known or done. A school is to serve the community and the community must support the school. There must be coexistence and transparency in the development lifecycle of our youths and community development.

Parents and adults, we need to be more interactive and engaged in the lives of not just your children but the youths in and around our communities. Work with your school leaders to help in balancing home and school life so that when they come into the school, it is with a positive attitude of learning and development.

And so today my friends, let us forget about the problems and focus on the people and how they are and have been dealing with their challenges and problems and join in hands, hearts and minds in showing them love, support and how much they mean to us and that they are never alone.

Please join us as we pay tribute to these great people and the lives they have and are living and the path ahead. It’s their day, let is live it up for and with them. We will be adding the names of the honorees on the tribute page as we work with them and the final list will be announced at our http://sisfi.org/abuse_conference/ in NYC on September 29th at the Microsoft Briefing Center.

Good day to you,

Over the past few months we have been working on putting our Cyberbullying Campaign into gear and getting things aligned and now at the last day of April, it is finally upon us. I am sure some of you have gotten tired of my updates, requests and my passion for doing this and just constantly staying on top of the severity of these issues and how badly we need to converge on addressing it as a people problem now before it gets too late. Many have opened up to me on personal levels to talk about their thoughts, experiences, feelings and effects of bullying and I will not let you down in bringing the promised awareness, resources, focus and attention needed for this.

Technology is already here, it is already intertwined in our lives and with it comes the insecurities, vulnerabilities and impacts on us as a people but we are not ready for it.

We should not be running away from it or trying to stay clear of its path, we must embrace the new technological era with an open mind and proper education and awareness of what it entails and how it affects our lives. I believe internet access should be like getting a drivers license, you must take a test and learn of its features, resources and best practices and then if passed, be allowed to have and use it which states, I am certified to be technology and internet ready and safe.

To the parents:
There are enough casualties, cases and victims today to show, prove and tell the stories of why bullying is a people problem with serious societal ramifications at all levels. We must converge on this now to have mandatory training, education and awareness at all school levels as the use of these technological gadgets and resources you allow into your homes are opening doors that you have no idea as to what the true nature of them are, yet, unchecked, you’ve brought them in, made them available for general use and guess what, you didn’t apply any usage policies, guidelines or awareness and so the family runs wild to its vast resources. The problems and solutions starts with you. Step up to the plate and hold true to your responsibilities of making your family and environment safe.

To our leaders (school, community, churches, government):

Open your hearts and minds and listen to what are critical, severe and fatal problems that needs your attention and endorsement. These threats are behind closed, private/personal doors and it is through opening up specific communication channels that allows the proper sharing of information and resources will they be shared. Let us put down the ranks, titles and egos and be humans who empathize with each other and can relate. Listen, look, learn and communicate.

To all:

Let us say no to bullying, yes to more education and awareness for all (no exceptions), yes to enforcing strict punishable laws against those who chose to pursue these deeds and stick by them. Embrace the present by learning from the past so we can be more comfortable and secure in the future.

Tomorrow we start off with the Shields-Up kick off initiative and we are looking forward to a strong support from everyone on it. Our Cyberbullying Offensive Education and Awareness Campaign “BOEAC” Official Launch Event is on Monday May 3rd from 11am-12pm and will be virtual via Internet Radio and Microsoft’s Live Meeting. We are very excited about the levels of support coming from the international community as it validates that this is a people problem across the board.

There have been a lot of discussion and attention from high profile people about our campaign and its initiatives that have driven some new networking and collaboration efforts and for that we are very happy that it is being seen and valued as worthy of acceptance. This is where the nervous part comes in as it is such a need but is only seen as successful if large numbers of people support it. Driving attendance and visibility is always an issue and for us isn’t the primary factor but for those looking at validating the success, it is. So I will be a little nervous over the first few days and I don’t get nervous much less easily.

This is just the beginning, the real load of the initiative is still to come as we take the message, education and awareness to the people so join us, support us as we are all in this together. We will be in various communities during the month so if you see us, please say hi. We’d love to meet and greet you. We still have open time slots available so feel free to send us your request for an education and awareness session in your community.

Strength in numbers, motivation, inspiration, determination, leadership, values, effectiveness, ethics, qualities - success in strength.

And now I try to wrap up the final pieces of the campaign and try to get some rest in preparation for the month ahead. Please pray with us that the messages and resources being put into this initiative will continue to save lives.

Thank you and have a great day,

~Brett A. Scudder~

Good day to you,

It is with great passion and excitement that we prepare for the launch of our CyberBullying Offensive Education and Awareness Campaign “BOEAC” for 2010. On May 1st at 12:00am we will all “Shields-Up” in this effort towards fighting against a hidden silent killer in our society that is slowly but increasingly taking the innocent lives of the young and old. Whether through direct or indirect impacts, this threat is very real and has taken the innocent lives of many, yet, unchecked; there isn’t a converged initiative to address this as a people problem by the people. So on May 1st we kick off our public awareness campaign on this issue to bring to light the real truth about it and the many areas of our lives that are affected by it, at home, in the school, in the churches and the work places.

Parents, family members, educators, religious leaders, law enforcement, government and all must converge on this cause for the impacts and effects of addressing it to be effectively felt and understood.

We are asking those in support of this initiative to use this shield http://sisfi.org/images/shields-up/Shields-Up-Badge-2010-Anti-Bullying-Shield.jpg on your profiles as a sign of solidarity for this initiative. We will be using our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Scudders-InfoTech-SecuriCity-Foundation-Inc/106901499345679 as the center of the campaign happenings due to the broader accessibility and resources for all. We are collecting signatures/endorsements of the initiative via our guestbook here http://sisfi.org/main.html?src=%2F#9,0 . Please sign and share your comment and location so we can know where the support is coming from. Those of us on Facebook who wears this shield will do so proudly as we understand the risks and needs for this and are in support of this cause.

SISFI/TITSSN's Anti-Bullying Shield for 2010
Let the world see and know that we are serious about addressing these issues and that it is a unified effort to let government, education and community leaders know that we need more focus and attention to these issues. Laws and accountability needs to be implemented to ensure that these vicious and fatal acts are punished to the full extent of the law. Bullying on or offline should be punished as the loss of life is very much a serious issue for all.

This is something that should be held as a topic for discussion in general assembly in every school at least once a month. The topic and issues must be brought to the youths as a mandatory requirement of the schools systems across the board.

So join us as we embark on this mission of education, awareness and convergence on bullying on and offline and its real world impacts and effects on us as a people. Strength in numbers, motivation, inspiration, determination, leadership, values, effectiveness, ethics, qualities - success in strength.

Thank you and have a great day. We apprecilove your patronage and look forward to serving you more.
